Portland Cider Co. Celebrates the New Year with Huckleberry Lemonade Cider
Portland Cider Company entered the new year with a brand-new seasonal cider, Huckleberry Lemonade. This new fruited cider is bursting with the juicy taste of sun-ripened huckleberries and zesty lemon, paired with Northwest apples.
“Huckleberries are one of the treasures of our Northwest forests, but they can be tricky to harvest—and the bears love them as much as we do,” said Portland Cider co-owner Jeff Parrish. “We made it easier—and much safer!—to enjoy the sweet little berries by adding them to our cider.”
Huckleberry Lemonade is refreshing and not too sweet, with bright apple and ripe huckleberries balanced by a tart lemon finish. The deep purple cider pours beautifully and makes for a vivid addition to a cider cocktail. The berries impart a rich, juicy sweetness with a slight tartness, while the fresh lemon zest adding a citrusy brightness. Together, these flavors create a refreshing and well-balanced cider that is both invigorating and satisfying arriving at 6.1% ABV.
When it comes to pairing this cider with food, Portland Cider Co. recommends pouring a can of Huckleberry Lemonade alongside grilled chicken, fresh salads, seafood dishes, cheese platter, or desserts.
Huckleberry Lemonade will be available until April 2025 or while supplies last in both 12-ounce 6-packs and 19.2-ounce Proper Pint cans at retailers throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as on draft at the cidery’s Clackamas taproom.
