Fawn Weaver’s Love & Whiskey: Unfiltered Book Tour at Portland Center Stage
Whiskey heritage arrives in Portland on Monday, July 15, 2024 when the Love & Whiskey Unfiltered Book Tour comes to Portland Center Stage. The new book, Love & Whiskey, written by Fawn Weaver will be discussed, along with a whiskey tasting, when this event takes place beginning at 6:30pm.
The book Love & Whiskey: The Remarkable True Story of Jack Daniel, His Master Distiller Nearest Green, and the Improbable Rise of Uncle Nearest details Weaver’s journey to building the whiskey brand Uncle Nearest that is worth an estimated $1.1 billion. This brand that Weaver has created honors the first known African American Master Distiller, Nearest Green who we now know as the mentor for Jack Daniel. From spending her teen years in homeless shelters, to taking on spirits conglomerate and Jack Daniel’s owner Brown-Forman, and creating a legacy for the Green that can now never be erased from history again, the book is whiskey history alongside her story.
