To celebrate the release of Cloyster Stout, Widmer Brothers Brewing will host a special stout and oyster tasting on Saturday, April 21. Along with samples of Cloyster Stout, the Brewery’s entry in this year’s Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers event, attendees will enjoy fresh oysters from Pacific Seafood.
WHAT: A special tasting of Widmer Brothers Brewing’s limited release Cloyster Stout, paired with fresh oysters from Pacific Seafood. Cloyster Stout is the brainchild of the brewery’s night shift brewing crew and was developed as a special creation for the annual Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers festival. The beer is a hybrid of a Belgian Dark Strong Ale and a Dry Irish Stout. Whole oysters and oyster liquor were added during the brewing process to give this beer a subtle briny mineral character and a dry, refreshing finish.
The tasting will provide attendees with the chance to appreciate the beer side-by-side with one of its more unique ingredients.
WHEN: Saturday, April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Widmer Brothers Gasthaus
955 North Russell St., Portland, OR 97227
COST: Admission is free. Show proof of entry to Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers festival and receive a taste of Cloyster Stout and an oyster. Additional oysters and beers will be available for purchase at the Widmer Brothers Gasthaus.
