CANNON BEACH, Ore (January 13, 2025) – Public Coast Brewing Co. is releasing a new non-alcoholic beverage to kick off 2025: Lord Citra Hop Tea. This is a collaboration with Portland-based Smith Teamaker, using their Lord Bergamot tea and Public Coast’s Citra-Drop Hop Water. This zero-proof beverage comes at a great time, as many are embracing a sober start to the new year.

“We’re excited to collaborate with Smith Teamaker yet again, especially for the new year, since many people cut back on alcohol as a way to detox or as a part of New Year’s resolutions,” said Viviana Kaizer, Public Coast’s director of marketing. “We also understand that not everyone drinks alcohol, and we wanted to create a unique zero-proof beverage that delivers the same taste and quality that you would expect from our brews that anyone can enjoy, no matter the occasion.”

The Lord Citra Hop Tea is a gluten-free, carbonated beverage, brewed with aromatic Citra hops. Ingredients also include Smith Teamaker’s Lord Bergamot Tea, cane sugar, and a touch of lemon juice, making it the perfect crisp beverage.

Smith Teamaker’s Lord Bergamot, one of the brand’s best sellers and most beloved teas, is an Early Grey Black Tea, including Ceylon Dimbula, Uva, Indian Assam full-leaf teas, and bergamot oil.

Public Coast Brewing Co. also offers various other zero-proof options, including their classic Stephen’s Root Beer, which won gold at the 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship. Another house-made craft soda option is Stephen’s Cream Soda, filled with nostalgia and sweetness. The Citra-Drop Hop Water, a Bronze Winner at the U.S. Open Hard Seltzer Championship, is also a great refreshing option for something less sweet but still crisp.

The Lord Citra Hop Tea will be available on tap at Public Coast Brewing Co.’s brewpub in Cannon Beach, as well as in 16-oz four-packs available to go.

For those participating in “Dry January” or simply want to try these delicious beverages, you’re in luck! There will be a Dry/Damp Booze-Free Fest Tastings with Public Coast Brewing at John’s Marketplace at the Hall location in Beaverton, OR from 2 – 5 pm on January 18th.

About Public Coast Farm

Oregon’s historic Route 26, known to Portlanders as the Sunset Highway, has welcomed generations of families traveling to and from the coast on its forested byway. Now, Public Coast Farm sits on that very route, straddling West Dairy Creek at the base of the Coastal Range, on a 40-acre site lush with blueberry bushes, beehives, fruit orchards and hops. The farm is fertile ground for the farm’s sister properties – the Stephanie Inn and Public Coast Brewing Co. – each of which incorporates Public Coast Farm’s fresh ingredients into delicious dishes and seasonal beers.
