Cheers To Belgian Beers Winners Announced

We received this email from Brian Butenschoen of the Oregon Brewers Guild regarding the People’s Choice Awards at 2009’s Cheers to Belgian Beers:2009 People’s Choice Award Winners

The 2009 Portlands Cheer’s to Belgian Beers was held Friday May 1st, 2009 and Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 from Noon-10 pm at the Lucky Labrador Beer Hall, 1945 NW Quimby, Portland.

Portlands Cheers to Belgian Beers started two years ago to help introduce Oregonians to the breadth of style and flavors of beers brewed in Belgium.

Portlands Cheers to Belgian Beers is much like your standard beer festival, however it is different in three ways.
1. Peoples Choice Award with Benefits:
a. Hosting next years Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers – if they want to.
b. Picking next years yeast strain.
c. Picking the benefiting charity for next years event

2. Brewers eligible for People’s Choice Award use one Yeast Strain
In 2009, the Wyeast Laboratories 3822-Ingelmunster yeast strain was used.

3. Profits from the event Go to a Charity
Profits from the 2009 Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers will go to the Oregon Humane Society.
