Laurelwood Workhorse IPA is Back!

Laurelwood Workhorse IPA

One of Oregon’s most beloved India Pale Ale has returned! Work Horse IPA from Laurelwood Brewing of Portland is back on the menu after going away for several months. The brewery’s pub favorite, Workhorse disappeared due to a shortage in the floral hop varietals available to make it happen.

More from Laurelwood:

Laurelwood Brewing Co. is excited to announce the return of the extraordinary Workhorse IPA. Workhorse will make its grand entrance back into the Laurelwood’s handcrafted product line on New Year’s Eve day. It is on tap only at the Northeast Portland and Battle Ground, WA Laurelwood locations. Workhorse will be available for purchase in the pubs, and to-go in quarts and growlers. Other retail packaging and dock sales are not available at this time. Ring in the New Year with a Workhorse IPA in your hand.

Workhorse IPA is an extremely well balanced yet super flavorful IPA brewed in the West Coast style. The over-the-top aroma comes from a heavy handed dose of hops in the kettle, hop back and 2 separate dry-hop additions. A slightly sweet finish helps balance the hop bitterness and creates an ale that is big on flavor. Workhorse weighs in at 7.5% alcohol by volume, possesses 80 IBUs (International Bitterness Unit), and has an extremely clean finish. Workhorse IPA was named the national IPA champion in 2009, and is a gold medal winner at the World Beer Championship in 2011.
