Widmer Celebrates Repeal of Prohibition with Arts & Draughts

Widmer Brothers Arts & DraughtsWidmer Brother Brewing’s Arts & Draughts will celebrate the 78th anniversary of repeal of Prohibition with a special event celebrating a new look and new releases from the Brewery as well as the craft of local beer, food, and artistry. Festivities will take place Thursday, April 7 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at LeftBank Annex.

April 7th is a day with many historical references – the eruption of Mt . Vesuvius, the Internet’s symbolic birthdate and more. However, April 7th, 1933 also marks the day that Prohibition was repealed for beer. Now, 78 years later Widmer Brothers Brewing will commemorate the repeal at this special event. The evening will include handcrafted Widmer Brothers brews uniquely paired with savory appetizers, live music by Sneakin’ Out, and artists on site including lightbox artists David Klein and Nick Woolley, photographer Squid Vicious, glass-blowing duo Justin Parker and Andi Kovel from Esque Studio, and more.

Admission to Widmer Brother’s Arts & Draughts is $25 and a portion of every ticket sold will go directly to p:ear, a local non-profit dedicated to building positive relationships with homeless and transitional youth, ages 15 to 24, through education, art and recreation. All food and beverages are included with tickets purchase. Patrons will also receive a commemorative glass while attending.
