Portland Meadows Oregon Craft Beer Festival

Normally one does not think of the combination of horse racing and craft beer. However, today this will all change when Portland Meadows will host their Oregon Craft Beer Festival from 11:30am to 4:30pm.

Part of Oregon Championship Day, Portland Meadows will also host their Oregon Craft Beer Festival on Sunday, December 14th outdoors in a large heated tent with over twenty beers from some of the states top brewers. Samples and full 12 oz. pours will be available. There will be TVs and betting machines inside the Beer Fest and there will be a view of the racing action. The Beer Fest will continue to the end of live racing.

Entry fee is $15 which will provide you with a souvenir glass mug and 8 (4 oz.) beer tickets along with a complimentary Live Racing Program. Additional beer tickets can be purchased at the cost of $5 for 4 (4 oz.) tickets.

The featured breweries include:
Deschutes, Bridgeport, Rogue, Hopworks, Full Sail, Ninkasi, Widmer, Gilgamesh, Worthy, Breakside, Oakshire, Crux, Seaside, Reverend Nat’s Cider, and more!

Here’s more info on Oregon Championship Day. This day is always a special event at Portland Meadows. Come to the track to celebrate the best in Oregon Horse Racing! Every race will be for horses born in Oregon including nine special stakes races.

Wineberg S. – $13,000 – 6f – 2 yo
Janet Wineberg S. – $13,000 – 6f – 2 yo fillies
Lethal Grande Oregon Sprint Championship S. – $11,000 – 6f – 3 yo’s & up
Oregon Hers – $11,000 – 1 mile – 3 yo fillies
Oregon His – $11,000 – 1 mile – 3 yo
Oregon Bred Distaff Starter Handicap -$7.000 – 6f – 3 yo’s & up fillies and mares
Oregon Bred Fall Starter Handicap – $7,000 – 6f – 3 yo’s & up
Baxter Andruss Futurity – $33,900 – (Quarter Horse) 400 yards – 2 yo
The Memorial – $8,000 – (Quarter Horse) 350 yards – 3 yo

Post Time is 12:00 PM and racing will continue until about 4:30 PM.

Update! No one hit the Pick 5 on Tuesday December 9th so there is a carryover of $8,135.83 going into the Pick 5 pool on Sunday December 14th.  The pick 5 covers the last 5 races of the day and is a $0.20 base wager.

Portland Meadows jockeys will also be available from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the main entrance (with the horse artwork) signing autographs.
