When one of our own in the brewing community takes a stumble, the brewing community lifts him up. Recently our fearless Brewpublic founder and favorite blogger, Angelo De Ieso, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor is benign but he continues to go through many tough challenges each day. And to add salt to the wound, he does not have any medical insurance. This is where you, the avid reader and follower of Brewpublic, can step up and assist Angelo at this beer filled fundraiser.
Mike Wright and his fellow brewers hope to return all of Angelos years of generosity by donating all draft sales from this evening to Angelo’s medical fund. In addition to The Commons two beers, they will have thirteen other beers generously donated from several other local and regional breweries. A hearty thanks to all that are donating their beers!
The beer list includes these standouts:
- Commons – Urban Farmhouse (2013 GABF Silver Medal Winner)
- Commons – Gose
- Barley Brown’s – Pallet Jack IPA (2013 GABF Gold Medal Winner)
- Breakside – Wanderlust IPA
- Deschutes – Weizenbock
- Fort George Brewery – Next Adventure Black IPA
- Gigantic/Ecliptic – TicWitTic (Sour Wit)
- Laurelwood – Monksfest (Belgian Single)
- Ninkasi – Sterling Pils
- Oakshire – Biere de Mars
- Occidental Brewing Company- Dunkelweizen
- Sasquatch – Fresh Hop CDA
- Upright – English Pale Ale

What an outstanding taplist. Barley Brown’s Pallet Jack IPA that won a Gold Medal and The Commons’ Urban Farmhouse Silver Medal Winner from this year’s Great American Beer Festival will be poured. You’ll also get one of the first opportunities to taste Breakside Brewery’s new Wanderlust IPA, a new year round IPA brewed with Mosaic hops.
Please stop by The Commons Brewery tonight, October 17th and order a beer or two to toast Angelo. The Commons will be pouring beer from 5:00 to 10:00pm. Don’t be afraid to swing by later in the evening to keep the support for Angelo continuing. And if you’re really feeling generous you can donate online at Angelo’s Fundly site here. Hope to see The Commons packed tonight!
Also Tonight, October 17, 2013 beginning at 6:30 p.m., The EastBurn is hosting their monthly Beer Belly Dinner. This month’s dinner will feature Elysian Brewing of Seattle who have kindly made Angelo a benefactor of this charity fundraising food and beer pairing. Limited tickets may still be available.
