Occidental Brewing's Oktoberfest
Occidental Brewing Company will host its third annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 28 from noon to 10 pm at the brewery. Enjoy great German food from Urban German, good music and of course great beer including Occidental’s 2013 Festbier.
New things that you’ll notice at this years Oktoberfest include:
- Glass beer mugs: This year Occidental is ditching the plastic cups in favor a commemorative half-liter glass mugs. The mug, which includes your first beer, costs $10 and it’s yours to keep!
- Tokens: In order to streamline the serving process, Occidental is going to a token system this year (for beer only). Tokens cost $4 each and are good for one beer (our regular taproom price). You may cash out unused tokens when you leave. We will be equipped to accept cards for tokens, but cash makes it easier. And don’t forget to tip your server!
- Brewvana Shuttle: The great folks at Brewvana will be operating a shuttle between the Lloyd Center Doubletree and the brewery. Shuttles leave the Doubletree on the hour. Take public transit to the Rose Quarter/Lloyd District and shuttle up to Occidental.

My husband and I are both 75 and we enjoyed our afternoon at the October fest very much. The beer was great,we will be watching for it when we go out. The two bands we saw were awesome. We got a real kick out of Love Bomb Gogo and the band that played before them (I never caught their name) was great too. My ears are still ringing. We will watch for it next year. Thanks!
