Pelican Wins 11 Medals at the North American Beer Awards

The Pelican Pub & Brewery won 11 medals at the 2011 North American Beer Awards—more than any other Northwest brewery for the second year in a row. Out of Pelican’s 11 medals, five of them were Gold, which tied the Pelican for first place with The Boston Beer Company as the most Gold medals won in this year’s competition. In its 15th year, the North American Beer Awards takes place in Idaho Falls, Idaho and is sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association.

Gold – Tsunami Stout, Dry Stout category

Gold – Kiwanda Cream Ale, Light Ales category

Gold – Saison du Pelican, Saison category

Gold – Nestucca ESB, (Extra Special) Strong Bitter ESB category

Gold – Surfer’s Summer Ale, English Summer Ale category

Silver – Tsunami Stout, Foreign Stout category

Silver – Stormwatcher’s Winterfest, English Barleywine category

Silver – Kiwanda Cream Ale, Blonde or Golden Ale category

Silver – Doryman’s Dark Ale, American Brown Ale category

Bronze Bridal Ale, Biere de Garde category

Bronze – MacPelican’s Scottish Style Ale, Scottish Heavy category
