Roll Out The Barrels
Bailey’s Taproom turns two with a sick display of barrel-aged brews.
Brewpublic loves a great beer bar. In Portland we’ve got authentic places like the Horse Brass, Saraveza, and perhaps our favorite yet, Bailey’s Taproom. This Saturday (August 1, 2009) the exceptional beer geek headquarters on SW Broadway off Burnside will show Beervana why this town rules the world when it comes to spectacular beers. Not only is Bailey’s a great choice for Northwest beers, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are unpretentious brainiacs when it comes to the craft. Since 2007, owner Geoff Phillips has made it a point to keep twenty world class taps flowing, reflecting the abundance of the artisan beer here. Committed to keeping things interesting-even amongst vast choice and snobbery-Phillips manages the squirrel away a specialty kegs nd travel statewide to collect an array of thought-provoking beers. In his cooler drey can be found a number of tantalizing kegs ranging all styles. One of our favorite members of the local beer community, Phillips moved to Portland to fulfill his mission of delivering better beer. “I like to keep Bailey’s selection fresh and new,” Phillips says. “It keeps regulars coming back. Some people like to know what they’re getting each time. The educated beer drinker appreciates variety.”
“Most area craft breweries have seasonal beers that aren’t commonly available outside of these individual brewpubs. These are the beers that I like to bring to Bailey’s,” Phillips says. In celebration of a two fabulous years of scrumptious quaffing, Phillips is once again providing his patrons with something special. On Saturday, Bailey’s will host a second birthday fiesta featuring stellar, one-of-a-kind barrel-aged beers. Look for these phat flavorsome beers:
Block 15 Super Nebula – Imperial Stout (Bourbon), The Bruery White Oak (Bourbon), Cascade Bourbonic Plague (Bourbon), Double Mountain Terrible Two (Bourbon), Firestone Parabola (Bourbon), Cask conditioned Fish ’04 Leviathan (Oak), Fort George Illuminator (Bourbon), Full Sail Amber (Bourbon), Hair of the Dog Cherry Adam from the Wood (Sherry), Hopworks DOA (Bourbon), Lompoc Pagan Porter (Bourbon), Lucky Lab Beljamin (Chardonnay), Oregon Trail Porter (Pinot Noir), Rock Bottom Maude Flanders – Sour (Pinot Noir) Rogue John John (Whiskey), Russian River Consecration (Cabernet Sauvignon).
Screw the heat and low alcohol beers, get your ass over to Bailey’s Taproom this weekend and show some friggin’ love!
