Oregon Brewers Guild Hosts 3rd Annual Statewide Brewery Tour

Join dozens of Oregon breweries and brewpubs on Saturday, February 19th for the state’s third annual Zwickelmania, a free one day event hosted by the Oregon Brewers Guild (OBG). The Presidents Day weekend event offers visitors a chance to tour dozens of Oregon breweries, meet the brewers and sample their favorite beers. This is a once a year chance for consumers to go into breweries that might not usually be open to the public – more than 10,000 visitors from across the state participated in the 2010 event.

Expanded shuttle bus service, provided by OBG, will ferry visitors between participating breweries at selected Portland, Eugene and Bend locations, making it even easier to get a taste of Oregon’s beer culture. Bus schedules and sample itineraries are available on the OBG’s website.

Zwickelmania takes its name from the zwickel sample valve, which is mounted on the conditioning tanks and allows brewers to take quality control samples during the fermentation process.
