Gigantic Brewing Collaboration with Jolly Pumpkin – Phuket: It’s Not That Far From Laos
Over one year in the making, Gigantic Brewing is set to release its collaboration with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales from Dexter, Michigan. After meeting and pouring at a few beer festivals together Gigantic and Jolly Pumpkin collaborated on Phuket: It’s Not That Far From Laos.
On Tuesday, November 21st, Gigantic Brewing will host the release for Phuket: It’s Not That Far From Laos at its Gigantic Taproom and Champagne Lounge from 3:00-9:00pm.
Phuket is a barrel-aged saison made with jasmine rice, Oregon grown asian pear, and palm sugar. This beer is Gigantic Brewing’s first collaboration with its friends at Jolly Pumpkin. On Tuesday, Ron Jeffries of Jolly Pumpkin will also be at Gigantic Brewing Company to discuss the beer along with the Ben Love and Van Havig of Gigantic Brewing.
Both breweries brewed a version and aged it at each brewery. Gigantic aged its version of Phuket for 14 months in oak barrels, and then bottle conditioned it for two more months to perfectly marry all of the flavors together. For the release celebration both versions of the beer will be on tap along with bottles from both breweries, with the Jolly Pumpkin version being available in very limited quantities.
