Pike Brewing Celebrates 30 Years In October 2019
|One of Seattle’s original breweries celebrates three decades of brewing in October. Pike Brewing turns 30 years old and will celebrate with events beginning in October 2019.
Back on October 17, 1989, Pike Place Brewing as it was known back then opened its doors for the first in the historic Pike Place Market. Founded by Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, the brewery has long, rich history in beer that has seen many notable brewers come through the ranks. Brewers include Fal Allen, Drew Cluley, Kim Brusco, Dick Cantwell, Dean Mochizuki, and many more.
Pike Brewing will celebrate its 30th Anniversary on Thursday, October 17th at its iconic pub located inside Pike Place Market. Patrons will be able receive roll back pricing on draft beers to their original 1989 price point of only $2.50. On this day you’ll be able to order drafts of original Pike beers—Pike Place Ale, Pike XXXXX Stout, and Pike IPA—plus new limited-release Pike Reunion IPA, all priced at the low $2.50 per pint.
Speaking of the new, forthcoming Pike Reunion IPA, Pike Brewing recently invited back a few old friends to assist in brewing the first batch of Pike Reunion IPA. Brewed in honor of Pike’s 30th anniversary, this India Pale Ale is a collaboration of the minds of the company’s brewers, past and present. The list of current brewers and alumni are industry leaders and taste makers throughout the state of Washington and beyond who continue to make beer history in the world of craft, including:

Featuring Pilsner malt from Skagit Valley Malting, Pike Reunion IPA is brewed with Centennial and dry-hopped with El Dorado and Warrior hops. The beer is fermented with Charlie’s First Bump yeast, a hybrid strain developed in honor of industry legend and Pike beer friend, Charlie Papazian. Expect a floral profile accented with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and stone fruit. Look for Pike Reunion IPA to hit shelves in September 2019.
