Shiner Summer Beer Round Up – Desert Mirage Hazy IPA & Sea Salt & Lime Lager
|For well over 100 years, the Spoetzl Brewery, home to Shiner Beer in Shiner, Texas has been brewing up its iconic Shiner Bock and other recipes to the delight of its fans. Its latest offerings include the new Desert Mirage Hazy IPA and the return of Sea Salt & Lime Lager.
New for this summer is Desert Mirage Hazy IPA. Part of the brewery’s rotating Tex Hex lineup of IPAs, this one arrives hazy but has flavors that bridge the gap between a Hazy IPA and a West Coast Style IPA. There’s plenty of juicy, tropical flavors of tangerine and pineapple, but also resinous notes shine through that makes for a great summer IPA.
Desert Mirage Hazy IPA Is brewed with malt bill of Premium 2 Row, Wheat Malt, and Oats as it features Strata Hops. The beer also incorporates cactus water to create a pleasant IPA that sits at a bold 8% ABV. Shiner suggests to pair this one with grilled chili lime flank steak or Buffalo wings.
On Sea Salt & Lime Lager, Shiner brews a very refreshing zesty lager. Shiner brought together two flavors that fans would on occasion add to a lager – salt and lime. This crisp lager pairs real lime peel with artisanal sea salt for the perfect summertime flavor. In fact, this seasonal beer is now available year-round.
In brewing Sea Salt & Lime Lager, Shiner used Premium 2-Row Malt and Wheat Malt to create a sessionable 4.0% ABV lager. Pair this invigorating lager with creamy risotto lamp chops or just about any Mexican inspired dish. Hell, this one will go great with just about any menu item at any roadside bar in America.
