Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory to Launch a Mobile Tap Trail Passport
|One of our region’s tourism agencies, Mt. Hood Territory, is about to launch a new craft beer, cidery and distillery passport. Spanning across Clackamas County, the forthcoming mobile Mt. Hood Territory Tap Trail Passport aims to build awareness of the region’s craft beverages.
This new, updated Mt. Hood Territory Tap Trail Passport is set to launch around February 1, 2023 and will spotlight over a dozen local breweries, cideries and distilleries all located in Clackamas County.
Visitors who sign up will earn points for each brewery, cidery or distillery they visit. Check in at participating locations to earn points toward exclusive Tap Trail prizes. Additionally, each check in counts as an entry for an annual grand prize drawing. The winner will receive a two-night stay for two to Mt. Hood Territory with activities worth over $500.
“The new format of the Mt. Hood Territory Tap Trail will allow guests to check in with ease, gather points faster and redeem for more prizes throughout their journey,” said Casey Knopik, senior public relations manager. “Our hope is that it will encourage craft beverage lovers to venture out to locations they’ve never been to and further support our local businesses.”
The tourism organization worked with Bandwango, a well-known technology company in the travel space, to create the mobile passport.
How it Works
Once the new platform is launched, guests will be able to visit a dedicated mobile passport landing page at www.mthoodterritory.com/taptrail where they can sign-up for the Mt. Hood Territory Tap Trail by providing their name and email address. A link is then sent to their mobile phone, which opens the passport and directs the user to add the button icon to their home screen, where they can access it any time. There is never anything to download and no bulky apps taking up space on a user’s phone.
When visiting a participating stop along the Tap Trail, you can successfully redeem at that location using the self check-in feature. To redeem a discount, self check-in for the discount then show the date-stamped redemption in the mobile pass to your server. Each check-in and discount can only be redeemed once per year.

- Boring Brewing Co.
