Brewer's Memorial Ale Fest
|Newport, Oregon usually expects a quiet weekend when Highway 20 is closed for repairs. But that will not be the case when the Coastal artery closes on May 20th. This two-day closure coincides with Rogue Ales’ 5th Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Festival (“BMAF”) at their brewery in Newport, Oregon.
BMAF, the largest dog-beer festival in the world, draws about 3,500 people and 850 dogs to the Newport annually. The festival includes beer from over 50 microbreweries, dog celebrity look-a-like contests, dog washes, dog Olympics, live music and regular tours of the Rogue Brewery and Distillery. The event benefits the Central Coast Humane Society, Oregon Coast Therapy Animals and Friends of Lincoln County Animal Shelter. In March, BMAF was named Oregon’s best festival with a budget under $150,000.
