Gigantic Taps Five Cask Conditioned Pins of Bang On! – New Date, Feb 11th
|Due to the snow Gigantic’s Bang On! event has been postponed until Tuesday, February 11th.
On Thursday, February 6th, Gigantic Brewing will host a special day of cask conditioned beer. Beginning at 3:00pm Gigantic will tap five cask conditioned pins of Bang On! inside their Taproom and Champagne Lounge in SE Portland.
Each pin of Bang On! will have a different dry hop added, including two pins with experimental hops. If you’re wondering what a pin is, a pin is equal to half a firkin. Therefore a pin holds 4.5 Imperial gallons, which equates to 5.4 US gallons.
The five different hops being used are:
- EX 881
- EX 527
- Australian Summer
- Australian Sylvia
- Brewers Gold
Commercial Description: We’re two nations separated by a common language. They call it bitter; we call it pale. Either way, this marriage of British malt and American hops is just what a proper ale should be. We’d say it’s on the money, but they’d call it bang on!
Beer Style: English Bitter / American Pale
ABV: 5.6 % 35 IBU
Notes: A marriage of British Malts: Marris Otter, Crystal malts and American Hops: Willamette and Brewers Gold. Rich bready malt aroma, orangey floral and spicy hop aroma, slightly sweet crystal malt flavor, with the flavor of fresh orange peel.
So come join Van Havig and Ben Love on Thursday February 6, from 3:00 to 9:00pm and experience the nuances of five different dry hopped pins of Band On! Be sure to arrive early as the pins will be tapped at 3pm.
