Elysian and Payette Collaborate with Huckleberries
|What happens when you bring together a well established brewery from Seattle and a younger brewery from Boise? If the two respective breweries are Elysian Brewing and Payette Brewing we will be welcoming their new Huckleberry Berliner Weisse just in time for Labor Day Weekend.
This inaugural collaboration between Elysian and Payette will bring a beer that is brewed in a traditional Berliner Weisse style that employs a grain bill of half wheat and half barley. It is then soured with Lactobacillus and weighs in at a thirst quenching 2.8% ABV. Add to this a whopping two-and-a-half pounds per barrel of delicious Idaho-grown huckleberries and you have the perfect antidote for these hot summer days.
Elysian and Payette’s Huckleberry Berliner Weisse is described as a light, tart, and bright freakin’ pink in color! You can get your first taste at any of the four Elysian locations in Seattle, WA on Friday, August 29, and at Payette Brewing in Boise, ID on Friday, September 5.
Following those releases, a small run of kegs will make their way to select beer bars in the Pacific Northwest. Draft is limited, so as Elysian’s Capital Hill head brewer, Kevin Watson says, “pucker up and drink the pink while you can.”
