Bailey’s Taproom Set To Launch its 32oz Crowler
A new form of a growler will finally make its way to Portland with a launch on Wednesday, April 8th at Bailey’s Taproom with a special launch price of only $5.00 per fill. Yes, the Crowlers have arrived in Portland! Bailey’s recently acquired a Crowler Machine, allowing patrons to take some of their favorite beers to-go…in a large 32oz aluminum can.
If you are wondering what a Crowler is its a one-use, recyclable can that is filled and seamed on premises. Unlike glass growlers, Crowlers are more portable, less breakable, better at locking in freshness, and eliminate the possibility of light struck beer.
Oskar Blues and Ball Packaging got together to modify a classic table top seamer used for canning. The Crowler Machine is height adjusted to work with a 32oz alumnium can made fom 68% recycled content.
Here’s how a Crowler works: the Crowler is immediately filled. Then the lid is applied and the Crowler is placed onto the seamer pedestal. The pedestal is turned so that the can is raised up and locked under pressure into the seamer. Turn it on, and push GO.
Turn it off, twist the pedestal to lower the can, and take it with you to enjoy. Once you open the Crowler drink it up—ensuring the craft beer is consumed in a single serving while the beer is in its prime, just like in the taproom.
To assist in this launch, Bailey’s Taproom is offering a limited number of Barley Brown’s Pallet Jack Crowlers for online pre-sale for only $5.00, limit one. Orders can be placed in advance by clicking here and will be available for pickup beginning at noon on April 8th. Bailey’s will also have more for sale for walk in on Wednesday.
