Beers Made By Walking Portland Beer Tapping
During the past year Beers Made By Walking (BMBW) has been conducting hikes on various trails throughout Portland’s Forest Park. During these hikes that were led by members of the Forest Park Conservancy, there were also local brewers that came along to discover the vast amount of plants that grow naturally in our city’s park. Some of these locally grown plants then made its way into a few beers and a cider.
Now all 18 of these beers and cider will come together for the annual BMBW Portland Beer Tapping Event. The BMBW event takes place on Saturday, October 10, from Noon until 5:00pm, at four various bars in Southeast Portland – Bazi Bierbrasserie, Belmont Station, Horse Brass Pub, and Likewise.
The featured beers come directly from a collaboration with the Forest Park Conservancy, which sent experts to lead monthly public hikes with brewers in Forest Park. Hikes took place on various trails throughout Forest Park over the past year. “Cumulatively, the beers create a drinkable landscape portrait of Forest Park,” says Eric Steen, founder and director of BMBW.
Each brewery is donating the beer for this event and a percentage of the beer sales on October 10 will support the Forest Park Conservancy’s work on restoring Forest Park.

- Widmer Brothers Brewing
Participants can visit any of the four pubs in any order from Noon until 5:00pm. For those interested in a scheduled walk between the four venues, a walking party will begin at Belmont Station at noon and will end at Bazi Bierbrasserie.
