Everybody’s Brewing Releases Hoppy AF Double IPA in 22 oz Bottles
|The brewery that sits atop the hills of the Columbia River in White Salmon, Washington has just released its latest in its rotating line of seasonals with Hoppy AF Double India Pale Ale in 22 oz. bottles. Originally available only on draft as part of Everybody’s Brewing Tiny Tank Series, Hoppy AF Double IPA is now beginning to his store shelves throughout Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho.
When Hoppy AF Double IPA was part of the brewery’s Tiny Tank Series, each batch used a different hop bill that allowed Head Brewer Adam McClure to find the perfect blend. “We made the beer with a few different recipes, and then we got a consistent line on the hops we really wanted,” stated McClure in a news release. “It’s not just about the hop variety, but we also really try to get the freshest hops possible. I think it really shows, especially in the aroma. We’re really proud of this beer.”
For the new bottled version of Hoppy AF, McClure went with Citra, Galaxy and Chinook hops and sits at 85 IBUs and at 7.5% ABV. The beer is quite pleasant for any hop fan, especially on a nice warm, spring day while sitting on the picturesque back patio at its pub in downtown White Salmon. Though labeled as a Double IPA, this beer offers the hop profile and characteristics or somewhere more in between an IPA and Double IPA. The combination of the three hops is something that is quite refreshing and offers some pleasant fruit flavors.
So what does the AF stand for? Founder Doug Ellenberger jokingly stated, “ummm, ‘And Fresh’ is our P.C. answer at the pub. I usually tell people to take a drink; they usually get it after that. It’s a fun name for sure.” Ellenberger was quick to give a nod to his head brewer. “Hoppy AF is really Adam’s baby,” stated Ellenberger in the same news release. “He loves his IPAs, and I’m really impressed with how this one turned out. It’s got some really nice melon and citrus notes. It’s a big IPA but it it sticks with our mantra of making balanced beers.”
Hoppy AF will replace Cold Press Coffee Porter and joins Sprinkles Hibiscus Sour Red Ale on the shelf as the two current 22 oz. offerings. Hoppy AF will be available though the summer. The brewery has not yet named it’s fall seasonal, but plans to keep its focus on making “clean, approachable beers,” wrote owner Doug Ellenberger. “That”s what’s always been important to us.”
