Laurelwood Brewing Releases its Golden Ale in Six-Pack Cans + Boss IPA in 22 oz. Bottles

Today Laurelwood Brewing is canning its latest seasonal offering, in 12 oz. six-pack cans, Laurelwood Golden Ale. These blue and yellow-labeled cans will be hitting store shelves in the coming days and will be available through September, perfect for the upcoming summer season. Laurelwood has also released a limited run of Boss IPA in 22 oz. bottles.

One of Laurelwood’s longstanding beers, Mother Lode Golden Ale, has been a featured beer on tap at its pubs throughout its fifteen history. This beer has won many awards through the years including three medals at the Great American Beer Festival and three medals at the World Beer Cup. At GABF the beer has taken the Gold in 2012, Silver in 2004 and Bronze in 2003. At WBC Golden Ale has won Gold in 2014 and 2002 and Bronze in 2012. Quite an impressive track record!

Now in cans for the summer months and labeled with a shortened name with Laurelwood Golden Ale, this beer will be a great staple in your summer beer cooler. From speaking to Laurelwood owner Mike DeKalb he felt it was best to offer a clean label and to remove the name Mother Lode to avoid confusion since there are a few other breweries that use the name Mother Lode in its beers.

“After the success of our Red Elephant IRA cans, we are excited to can another fan favorite,” wrote James Buxman, Marketing & Sales Director for Laurelwood Brewing Co. in a news release. “Our refreshing, sessionable Golden Ale will be on the shelves just in time for the dog days of summer.”

Golden Ale is a light crisp and refreshing ale and an excellent beer to introduce to a new fan of craft beer. At 5.1% ABV at 25 IBUs makes this a great tasting session ale.

Another beer that has a long-standing history at Laurelwood that is making its way into packaging is its Boss IPA. This beer was developed as the brewery’s first IPA that predates its extremely popular Workhorse IPA. Not to be outdone by Laurelwood Golden Ale, Boss IPA is no stranger to being recognized on the awards stage as it was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2004 GABF.

Through the years Boss IPA has been slightly tweaked to meet the days IPA standards. At 6.7 % ABV this IPA is a bit more sessionable than Workhorse and offers ups a pleasant hop profile at 65 IBUs. Boss IPA is available in 22 oz bottles over the coming weeks.
