Buoy Beer Company Takes Over River Pig Saloon During Oregon Brewers Festival
|Press Release:
Portland OR – Buoy Beer Company is bringing Astoria to life in Portland’s Pearl District. During the week of the Oregon Brewers Festival from July 27-31, River Pig Saloon (529 NW 13th Ave, Portland) will transform into Buoy Beer Saloon, bringing aspects that embody the Astoria culture to NW Portland. Imagine sea lions lounging; Coast Guard flags waving; beers flowing, then step into the Buoy Beer Saloon to experience that reality, all within walking distance of the festival.
“Collaborating with River Pig is a perfect fit for Buoy Beer,” says David Kroening, co-founder of Buoy Beer Company. “We both take our inspiration from the people who built Oregon: from industrial Pearl District to the river men of Astoria.” Come meet the Buoy Beer staff Wednesday night, including founders, brewers, chefs, and others, eat some coastal inspired food, and of course drink Buoy Beers. “We are thrilled to have an Astoria takeover for the week,” Ramzy Hattar, owner of River Pig Saloon adds. “Buoy Beer’s classic styles and NW inspired brews are the perfect beers to sip on in our rustic neighborhood bar. This event and week-long experience compliments both of our brands as well as both our communities.”
During the week, two contests will be held within River Pig and throughout Portland. Raffle tickets will be handed out all week at the event, winning prize will be a fishing trip for 2 on the Columbia River. There will also be a week-long social media contest, where participants can win a $100 gift card, merchandise, and other Buoy prizes. See our website for more details. #ReachForABuoy

About River Pig Saloon:
The River Pig Saloon is a rustic neighborhood bar located in the Gadsby, one of Portland’s most historic buildings. The River Pig name originated withe the Lumberjacks residing along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers; from Astoria through Portland who floated timber downstream from forests to sawmills. A skilled, well-paid yet rowdy bunch of men who enjoyed their whiskey and beer!
