|Big day: this is the start of an occasional Oregon beer history post in which I’ll sift through the eleventy-thousand beer fotos I’ve taken over 25 years and see if I can remember enough to write a cogent caption — that’s why I said “occasional” for the first installment, I dug out a picture from John Harris of the very first bottle of Deschutes Jubelale — as far as I know, it’s still in his cellar and unopened. Jubel soon became — and remains — a much loved Northwest holiday season tradition, both for the fine strong ale in the bottles and for its new label each year.
