Bazi Bierbrasserie To Host Battle of the Belgians and Mussels From Brussels

This week Bazi Bierbrasserie will be hosting a few craft beer related events that consist of Battle of the Belgians, Mussels From Brussels, and a Beer Week Workout. The events will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. Complete details are listed below with information provided to us from Bazi.

5th Annual Battle of the Belgians
Tuesday, June 14 – 5:00 to 9:00pm
It’s Flag Day so what an appropriate day to have a friendly U.S.A. versus Belgium beer competition. Four U.S.A. Belgian-inspired styles will be selected to go against four Belgians. Think wit vs wit, saison vs saison, you get the point. Last year Belgium won 3-1. This year’s Battle lineup includes:

Wit:
Wittekerke vs Worthy Brewing

Dry-hopped Saison:
Brasserie Dupont vs Ruse Brewing

Blonde:
Affligem vs Sound Brewery

Strong Dark:
Chimay Blue vs Bent Shovel Brewing.

So join us on Tuesday, June 14 between 5-9 PM. It’s your opportunity to try some of these beers side by side and let your palette decide your preferred style. Cost: $15 for 8 – 5 oz tasters.

Mussels from Brussels
Wednesday, June 15 – 5:30 to 9:00pm 
The ultimate challenge, Mussels from Brussels returns for its 4^th year. Five breweries (Breakside, Fat Head’s, Lompoc, pFriem, and Upright), five secret sauces created by each brewery for dipping in one pound of mussels served with fries, and paired with their Belgian-inspired beer.

But there’s only one “Mussels from Brussels”. Will reigning 3-time champion Alex Ganum of Upright Brewing and his team prevail? You be the judge.

Seating will take place every 30 minutes between 5:30-8:30 PM. Awards ceremony will take place at 9 PM once all votes have been tallied. Limit of 10 persons per seating. Cost is $28 per person plus processing fees and pre-purchase is required via Eventbrite.

Beer Week Workout
Sunday, June 19 – 11:00am to Noon
Nourish Northwest loves good beer as much as they thrive in healthy food and exercise! Let’s celebrate our city’s beer culture with a 30 minute HIIT (High-Intensity Interval-Training) workout starting at Nourish Northwest followed by a short .8 mile walk/run down the street to Bazi.

At Bazi you will be greeted by owner, Hilda Stevens who will give you a quick intro on Belgian beers and provide samples of both of Bazi’s house beers – A tripel brewed in Belgium and quad brewed in collaboration with Upright brewing.
