Medford Beer Week – June 1-10, 2017

Seven years ago the first Medford Beer Week was celebrated and has expanded over the years to a 10-day beer week. Medford Beer Week 2017 celebrates breweries near and a far with various events in and around the Medford metro area beginning tomorrow, Thursday, June 1st through Saturday, June 10th.

The official Beer Week Launch Party takes place at Opposition Brewing with many more events to follow over the next 10 days that closes with the 9th Annual Southern Oregon Craft Brew Festival held at The Park Block at the Medford Commons on Saturday, June 10th.

Here’s a listing of events taking place during Medford Beer Week 2017.

Thursday June 1^st
Beer Week Launch Party with Moxley Media @ Opposition Brewing: 4pm – 9pm
What better way to kick off beer week than with a block party! Join us as we party with the fine folks from Sweetwater Collective and Moxley Media while drinking our annually released Legionn-Ale! This highly popular collaboration brew is available just once a year. You won’t want to miss out! Not only will we have a DJ spinning tunes, but the very talented artists from Sweetwater collective will be on hand to chat and give away merch and discount tattoos! Food from Hey! Burrito, a cornhole tournament (with chance to win Oppo branded cornhole set!), and plenty of beer. Gonna be a killer time. We did a collaboration beer just for Medford Beer Week with our friends at Climate City Brewing! It’s a Single Hop Amber, and it’s amazing! Come give it a try and pair it with some of our great food.

Beer Release Party @ Osmo’s Brewing: 2pm – 9pm
We brewed a beer with The Rogue Growler. It’s a West Coast IPA with copious amounts of the hard to find hop, Idaho 7. It’s only available in Osmo’s tap room and The Rogue Growler.

Wee Heavy Release Party @ Portal Brewing: 2pm
We kick off Medford Beer Week with the release of our Wee Heavy. Today is also the day to begin our week long specials!

Wild Ride Brewing Pinewood Derby @ The Rogue Growler: 5pm – 8pm
Come join us during Wild Ride’s Tap Takeover and take part in the Pinewood Derby Championship Races!! We’ll have four delicious kegs of Wild Ride on for your drinking pleasure!

World Class IPAs @ The Growler King at Quality Market: 5pm – 9pm

Get Schooled with Oakshire Brewing @ Beerworks Medford: 5pm – 9pm
Jordon from Oakshire will be in the house talking about the brewing process and how they do it at Oakshire. There will be three Oakshire beers on draft at special prices that will serve as taste examples of their process. And he usually brings stuff to give away…

Big Kids Now… Coloring and Hungry Hungry Hippos with Ninkasi Brewing @ Beerworks Jacksonville: 5pm – 9pm
Kick off Beer Week in Jacksonville with some good old fashioned grown up coloring and a Hungry Hungry Hippo tournament. Yes you read that right. Loads of Ninkasi beer at special pricing, and some fun things we used to do when we were 7.

Live Music with Eric Ledbetter @ BricktownE Brewing: 6pm – 9pm
Get your Beer Week started with some live music by local musician Eric Ledbetter at BricktownE. The tunes will start around 6pm, and we’ll be doing special pricing on pints as well.

Friday June 2^nd
Fog Line in the Outback @ Walkabout Brewing: 7pm-9pm
Local favorite Fogline will be playing in the Outback of the Walkabout tasting room. Grab a beer and watch these guys put on a show in our big outdoor area. Curbside King, the highest voted food truck in Medford, will be here cranking out some tasty meals to go with your beer. Don’t miss this one it is gonna be great!

Sponsored by the Medford Food Co-op and SOPTV, this family-friendly fund-raising event includes more than a dozen of the region’s best breweries, five foot-tapping bluegrass bands, delicious BBQ, home brew classes, and kid’s activities. The event will benefit Thrive and Rogue Valley Food System Network who are leading efforts in Jackson and Josephine counties towards a sustainable, collaborative food system by connecting people to local farmers and healthy food. With over 30 breweries showing off their best offerings (over 60 beers to sample), this event is a “must attend” for Medford Beer Week. $20 gets you a commemorative pint glass and 8 tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets are 5 for $5 or 12 for $10. Food by Fired Up, Peruvian Point, and Wok Star. Water provided by Southern Oregon Subaru. The good folks at Arch Rock Brewing in Gold Beach have brewed up a special batch of their State of Jefferson Porter for us featuring just a hint of maple syrup. This beer and sandwich pairing will be available until the end of beer week or until we run out of the maple porter. Throughout the week we’ll also be giving away Arch Rock goodies randomly to those who try the beer.
