Stoup Brewing Announces 10 Year Anniversary Celebrations

Ten years ago in October 2013, Brad Benson, Lara Zahaba, and Robyn Schumacher opened Stoup Brewing in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. Since then the brewery expanded with a second location in Kenmore, Washington and this past summer it opened its third location in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Over the course of three days this month, Stoup Brewing will host its 10 Year Celebrations at its three locations. These celebrations will take place on October 18, 20, and 21.

“It is hard to believe that we opened our doors for the first time 10 years ago this month,” says Co-Owner and Creative Director, Lara Zahaba. “In some ways it feels like a lifetime ago, while in others, it could have been yesterday.” adds Robyn Schumacher, also a Co-owner and one of Stoup’s brewers. “Either way, it’s an ample reason to party,” notes Zahaba.

The first of the three 10 Year Celebrations will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Stoup Kenmore. The taproom and kitchen opened two years ago in partnership with the Weiman-Maclise family of restaurants. Chefs Jason Stoneburner and Russel Ocsan will be grilling up Hama Hama Oysters on the patio from 4pm. In honor of 10 years, we are offering 3 Oysters for $10.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, the second celebration will take place in Capitol Hill. “We’re taking the party to our newest Capitol Hill location at the corner of Broadway & Union on Friday night,” says Zahaba. “The Airscream mobile Karaoke lounge will be set up in the Capitol Hill Courtyard space from 6-10pm so guests can climb aboard with pints in hand and sing their hearts out!”

And on Saturday, October 21, 2023, Ballard will host the grand bash featuring live music, onsite t-shirt printing, and a Lucky Linqs Jewelry pop up. The beer styles they opened with 10 years ago will be on tap in its upstairs space at 2013 prices!!

To help celebrate this ten year milestone, the brew team at Stoup Brewing has brewed up a special beer for the events! In ten amazing years, Stoup has brewed a wide variety of styles using a myriad of brewing techniques. Beers have evolved over time, but one thing has stayed consistent: consistently infusing passion for the craft into every brew. The Ten Year Anniversary IPA is no different. It’s a Northwest Style IPA showcasing some of the most exciting hops on the block.

Co-Owner and Head Brewer Brad Benson notes, “It has been quite a journey.” He goes on to say, “We couldn’t have imagined how our passion for beer would introduce us to so many amazing people, from the craftspeople that built our spaces, to our regulars, our wholesale customers, so many amazing employees, and of course the farmers and suppliers of everything needed to make our beers.” Robyn adds, “There are the founders that believed in us before a drop of beer was made and the friends & family that have supported us every step of the way.” “We are very grateful,” all three agree.

To express this gratitude, the first 100 customers to purchase a to-go 4-pack Anniversary IPA at the Ballard celebration will receive a free commemorative glass. The gift will also be extended to the first 25 4-pack buyers at the Wednesday Kenmore celebration and the Friday Capitol Hill celebration.
