Hopworks Urban Brewery To Open New Brewpub In Vancouver
|Hopworks Urban Brewery is expanding north of the Columbia River into Vancouver, Washington to open its second brewpub location. This new location at 17707 SE Mill Plain Boulevard is currently under construction is set to open in the fall of 2016 and will be the third Hopworks location.
The new 6,000 square foot brewery and restaurant in east Vancouver will be home to a new 7-barrel brewhouse that will be led by longtime HUB brewer Matt Speckenbach. Once open, the new brewpub plans to serve exclusive beers that will use organic barley malted in Vancouver along with a combination of local, organic, and Salmon-Safe hops from both Washington and Oregon.
“The beautiful city of Vancouver has a great sense of community, it’s packed with families and people who love craft beer, and it has a rich brewing history,” said Hopworks brewmaster and founder, Christian Ettinger in a news release. “We have set out to deepen our roots in the Pacific Northwest and Vancouver has everything we’re looking for. We can’t wait to start brewing.”
When it comes to the restaurant portion of the brewery look for seating for over 300 people that includes an outdoor beer garden. The brewpub is said to be a Salmon-Safe Certified development that includes a 10kW solar array, native landscaping, and energy and water efficient design. The new location is also located at the intersection of two connecting bike paths and will feature ample bicycle parking.
As with Hopworks BikeBar, this new site is being designed and constructed by Portland based Siteworks Design Build.
