Pabst Brewing Company Launches All-New Pabst Light
|Every so often, Pabst Brewing Company releases a new beer or flavored malt beverage to the marketplace. Now the long standing brewer of the iconic Pabst Blue Ribbon, has just launched a completely revamped Pabst Light that is now hitting store shelves, including here in the Portland metro market.
In the past, Pabst offered a Pabst Blue Ribbon Light but this new release is different and has been brewed for today’s beer drinker in mind. Pabst Light is a beer that is targeting the more health conscientious beer drinker arriving low in calories and carbs at a sturdy 4.2% ABV. This new brew is crafted with premium hops and grains, resulting in a crisp, refreshing taste worthy of the Blue Ribbon that Pabst was awarded back in 1893.
“This is a totally new-to-world product with fresh, modern packaging and a new beer to boot,” said Kim Oakley, Brand Director of Pabst Light. “This is a 2025 version of a light beer – with quality ingredients including a touch of El Dorado hops, not usually found in American Light Lager (it’s a craft hop!) And, with the world as it is, a fresh, new product with the Pabst attitude & independent spirit at an approachable, smart price is exactly what we think the beer industry needs today.”
Oakley continues, “It’s 96 calories, 3.5g carbs and full of crisp and refreshing flavor. This beer isn’t PBR Light – it’s a totally new to world beer that tastes as good as it looks, and consumers can feel smart buying it – because it’s coming out at the PBR price.”
Pabst Light’s packaging blends retro inspiration with a modern, clean design. It’s made to appeal to today’s light beer drinkers while nodding to Pabst’s iconic brewing history. With a look that stands apart from the mainstream and the bold energy behind and new take on the Blue Ribbon badge.
“We developed a new, special recipe for Pabst Light using only premium ingredients,” stated John Kimes, Senior Vice President of Brewing at Pabst. “El Dorado hops are rarely used in American Light beer, and they create a smooth, crisp, and refreshing taste.”
Pabst Light will be available in 12oz and 16oz can multipacks, as well as individual 25oz cans. The new beer is rolling out nationwide this month and we spotted cans earlier this week here in Portland at a local Safeway store. For additional information on Pabst Light, please visit pabst.com.
