The Commons Brewery Releases Brotherly Love & Boysen
|Portland, OR – The Commons Brewery will be releasing two new bottled beers this week at the brewery Tasting Room.
On Thursday, February 12th, 5pm, the latest vintage of Brotherly Love will be released as part of the Beetje Series. Brotherly Love is our Belgian Dark Strong Ale, Little Brother, aged in second-use Bourbon barrels with sour cherries and a blend of cacao nibs from Ecuador and Trinidad roasted by Woodblock Chocolate in SE Portland.
This year’s vintage has a rounded chocolate note provided by the nibs selected during a tasting with Woodblock Chocolate as well as a increased cherry profile. Brotherly Love will be available in 750ml capped bottles for $12 per bottle. On the release day both the 2014 and 2015 versions will be on tap.
On Saturday, February 14th, 2pm, our latest seasonal bottle, Boysen, will be available at the Tasting Room. Previously a popular small run draft only beer, Boysen is a strong dark farmhouse ale with Boysenberries added in the fermenter. Full bodied, with notes of bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit and berry jam, Boysen is best shared with friends and family.
The Commons Brewery opened in December 2011 and crafts small batch, approachable and balanced beers inspired by European brewing tradition and Northwest-grown ingredients. The tasting room is located at: 1810 SE 10th Avenue, Unit E (entrance on SE Stephens between 10th & 11th). Tasting room hours are Thursday 5-9pm, Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 2-9pm, and Sunday 2-6pm.
