Hood River, OR – November 22, 2016 – Fall is here and the Hood River Valley harvest is complete. Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom debuts its first cider offering with the wryly named Double Mountain Dry Cider.  As the premier fruit growing region, the Hood River Valley is home to the world’s best pears, cherries, peaches, and apples. We selected a mix of dessert, table, and cider apples for a balanced, dry, tart, and aromatic cider. This dry cider is currently available on draft at the downtown Hood River Taproom, our Portland Taproom in the Woodstock neighborhood and throughout the Northwest, British Columbia, and Southern California.

““You simply can’t make a great cider without great Hood River apples”- Matt Swihart, brewmaster and cider guy.

Description: For our first Dry Cider, we kept it simple and local.  We use a blend of freshly harvested local heirloom apples from Double Mountain Orchards and local Hood River Newtowns, Braeburns, and Hanners for old world complexity.   We gave it plenty of time to dry out and develop the wondrous aromas of juicy pear, lychee, green fruit, and chamomile.  It finishes tart, crisp, dry, and quenching.
