Crux Fermentation Project Releases Peach Farmhouse, [BANISHED] Better Off Red and Half Hitch IIPA
|Three beer releases are coming from Crux Fermentation Project with the release of Peach Farmhouse Saison, the return of [BANISHED] Better Off Red, and the debut of Half Hitch Imperial Mosaic IPA in 12 ounce cans.
After sampling the Peach Farmhouse Saison last evening we can assure you that this beer should be sought out. The use of Oregon grown peaches brings forth a pleasant sweetness on the frontend and then a slight lingering tartness on the backend. A perfect warm weather saison, just don’t delay as there are less than 180 cases of this beer floating around Oregon, Washington and Southern Idaho.
The other highly sought after release from Crux is its [BANISHED] Better Off Red, its Barrel-Aged Flanders-Style Red Ale. Released in 750 mL bottles this beer is now making its way into Crux’s distribution footprint but in what we are told “scarce quantities”.
Here are descriptions on each of the three offerings from Crux Fermentation Project…
Peach Farmhouse Saison
We love the drinkability and versatility of saisons, so we thought, why not add some Oregon peaches for a refreshing summer take on this style? After brewing a few batches at our tasting room, we dialed in the perfect amount of peaches to give you this subtly sweet palate pleaser. Pick up a bottle if you see it – only a scarce amount made it out to retailers in the Pacific Northwest.
6.5% ABV – 25 IBU – 500ml bottles
[BANISHED] Better Off Red
Flanders Reds may be called the Burgundies of Belgium, but we age our take on this complex, slightly tart style in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels for nearly a year. A fresh batch will present spicier notes while older versions pick up more oak and yield cherry flavors. So we blended them figuring we’re better off presenting this exotic mélange simultaneously.
7% ABV – Total Acidity 6.1 g/l – 750ml bottles
Half Hitch Imperial Mosaic IPA
Pack it in, pack it out…now it’s a little easier for you to take our Imperial Mosaic IPA on your next adventure! (If you do, please tag your photos with with #halfhitch so we can check them out.) The inaugural canning of Half Hitch took place earlier this month, August 1st to be exact, and a limited amount can now be found in handful of places across the Pacific Northwest. Keep your eyes out for the release of a fresh batch later this month.
9.5% ABV – 80 IBU – 12oz 4-packs
