Ecliptic Brewing Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Ten years ago, Ecliptic Brewing opened its doors in Portland’s Boise neighborhood just off the bustling Mississippi Avenue to much fanfare. Since then, the brewery has expanded to open a second location in Southeast Portland while expanding its distribution to outside the Pacific Northwest.

To celebrate this milestone, Ecliptic Brewing will host its 10th Orbit Anniversary Party on Saturday, October 21, 2023 and release an anniversary beer, Tenth Orbit: Rice IPA. This beer will be available on draft and in 16 ounce cans beginning next week and will be the featured beer at the anniversary party.

“In the 10 years since we opened, a lot has changed in the craft beer industry. For example, people have been looking for lighter offerings, as far as color goes,” says Ecliptic’s Owner and Brewmaster, John Harris. “Rice was only used in American Lager 10 years ago. The addition of this ingredient really lightens the body of the beer and lets the hops shine through. We are using a mixture of hops that were around 10 years ago, as well as some that have been released since 2013. Thanks to all of you that have supported Ecliptic the past 10 years; it means a lot to me!”

Tenth Orbit: Rice IPA is brewed with Pale and Pilsner malts, as well as rice, which helps give the beer a pleasant light body. The hop bill of Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, and Amarillo hops adds lots of hop character for this refreshing beer that clocks in at 7% ABV. Tenth Orbit: Rice IPA will be released in 16-ounce cans and draft throughout Ecliptic Brewing’s distribution network on October 18, 2023.

Then on Saturday, October 21, Ecliptic Brewing will host its 10th Orbit Anniversary Party at its Mothership location from Noon – 10:00pm. The anniversary party will feature rare beers, a costume contest, live music, and more! Full details are below.
