Scenes From the 2013 North American Organic Brewers Festival
|The 2013 North American Organic Brewers Festival (NAOBF) rang in another fun and festive year. This time around, the festival’s 9th installment, the late June fest added Thursday to make it a four-day fiasco. For this year’s event, the crowds turned out in good numbers, as did the rays of sunshine. Temperatures reached mid to upper 80’s as thirsty fest-goers found sanctuary under trees, tents, and especially beneath a giant water mister. Live music permeated the grounds while organic food vendors served up delicious entrees.
The NAOBF is a great place for the whole family and people of all ages. The organizers remind us to not panic, but rather to go organic! No problem here! Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, vendors, and especially the brewers for sharing this fun event with the folks at one of the city’s best venues for a beer festival – Overlook Park in North Portland.
Beer that we particularly enjoyed this year were Widmer Brothers Tiny Tim’s Organic Mild, Fire on the Mountain (FOTM) Shocks of Sheba IPA, Golden Valley Hop Bracket IPA, Fort George Spruce Budd Ale and Forbidden Wonder Fruit Ale, Ambacht G++ Ale (a sour beer), Old Town Brewing I’d Like To Buy The World a Kölsch, which takes honors of best beer name at the event, along with another favorite, Rock Bottom Reinheitsgebrah.
Here’s a look at some pictures we snapped from 2013’s NAOBF:
From the pictures, it looks like Abe no longer has issues with the fest
