2015 Stammtisch Oktoberfest
|This year marks the 205th anniversary of Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration that kicks off on September 19. However Stammtisch in Northeast Portland will kick of its Oktoberfest Street Festival a day early on Friday, September 18 beginning at 5:00pm and will conclude on Sunday, September 20 at 9:00pm.
After last year’s Oktoberfest celebration this year Stammtisch has expanded to three days and will once be closing off NE Flanders at NE 28th Avenue for a weekend street festival. The expanded biergarten will feature ten Oktoberfest style biers, BBQ, live music, authentic German glassware, games, face painting and more.
For the BBQ, Chef Graham Chaney will be grilling up Roasted Chicken and Bratwurst wile also offering up Sandwiches, Curry Wurst, Döner Kebabs, Giant Pretzels, and more out on the street.
Here’s a tentative list of events for all three days of Stammtisch Oktoberfest.
Friday, September 18th
5:00pm: Street is closed off and the biergarten and bbq are open to the public. Glassware for sale including 1L commemorative mugs, 1L glass boots, 1L glass mugs.
6:00pm: Tapping of the ceremonial keg.
10:00pm: Street party closes down and the party continues inside.
Saturday, September 19th
Noon: Street is closed off and the biergarten and bbq are open to the public. Glassware for sale including 1L commemorative mugs, 1L glass boots, 1L glass mugs.
2:00pm: Live music begins.
2:00pm: Tapping of ceremonial keg.
2:00-5:00pm: Free face painting
10:00pm: Street party closes down and the party continues inside.
Sunday, September 20th
Noon: Street is closed off and the biergarten and bbq are open to the public. Glassware for sale including 1L commemorative mugs, 1L glass boots, 1L glass mugs.
1:00pm: Live music begins.
2:00-4:00pm: Free face painting
9:00pm: Street party closes down and the party continues inside.
