2nd Annual Kölsch Party Returns to Gigantic Brewing on August 17th
Making its debut last year, Kölsch Party will make its return to Gigantic Brewing on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from Noon – 9:00pm. This daylong event will take place at Gigantic Brewing’s Taproom and will feature a diverse selection of twelve Kölsch-Style beers from local and international brewers, live German music, and delicious locally-made beer sausages and pretzels.
The Kölsch Party will be a unique opportunity for beer enthusiasts to indulge in a variety of exceptional Kölsch beers crafted not only by Gigantic Brewing but also by some of their esteemed friends in the brewing community. Participating regional breweries include 54-40 Beer, Brothers Cascadia Brewing, Chuckanut Brewery, Double Mountain Brewing, ForeLand Beer, Occidental Brewing, Rosenstadt Brewery, Steeplejack Brewing, StormBreaker Brewing and Zoiglhaus Brewing, all of whom have a reverence for this most delicate of German beers. And as an added bonus, Gaffe, one of Cologne’s most popular Kôlsch beers, will also be served alongside its Pacific Northwest counterparts.
A commemorative Kölsch Party stange glass (like they use in Cologne) will set you back $4, and is required for tasting. Guests can try any of the nine Kölsch style beers for $5 per 12 oz. pour, buying up to 5 beers at a time via a special Kölsch Party coaster.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, the Kölsch Party will feature live German music performances by the talented Festival Brass. Attendees can immerse themselves in the vibrant melodies and rhythms of authentic German tunes throughout the afternoon, enhancing the festive ambiance of the event.
No beer celebration would be complete without delectable food pairings. The Kölsch Party will feature mouthwatering bratwurst from Olympia Provisions and warm pretzels from Dos Hermanos bakery, ensuring a perfect match for the refreshing Kölsch beers.
Kölsch Party is for those 21+ (with ID) and is free to attend, though you will need to purchase a Kölsch Party glass ($4) to taste the Kölsch beers.
