Kells Celebrates Halfway to St. Patricks’ Day Irish Festival

When St. Patrick’s Day rolls around each year, everyone feels like their Irish. Now you can do this once again as Kells Brewery is set to host its Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Sunday, September 17, 2023. This day marks the six-month mark from the legendary Kells Irish Festival held on March 17 each year.

Festival attendees on Sunday will enjoy Irish dancing, live music, bagpipes, great beer and delicious food at the event. Kells Brewery will also be accepting donations to benefit the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center.

“We can’t wait until March to bring everyone together again, so we’re bringing a touch of St. Patrick’s cheer to September” said Gerard McAleese, owner of Kells. “We’ll raise a few glasses, enjoy the music and dance the night away, as a reminder that it’ll be St. Patrick’s Day again before we know it!”

The September 17th event will run from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kells Brewery, located at 210 NW 21st Avenue in Portland. Irish dancers, bagpipes and drums and live Irish music will entertain on into the evening, and food and drink specials will keep the revelers happy.

The Kells Irish Festival will be returning in March 2024, once again in partnership with the annual Portland Shamrock Run.
