Killer Beer Week kicks off today; Ecliptic turns four on Saturday and the rest of the beer events for the week of October 20th.
Killer Beer Week Summit/Kickoff Party
5-10 p.m. Friday Oct. 20- Sunday Oct. 22, Roscoe’s, 8105 SE Stark St. ;
Quyen, Jeremy and crew and the Brewpublicans kick off KBW with some exclusive seasonal and cellared offerings from Gigantic Brewing, Pizza Port Brewing, Breakside, Stillwater, Crux Fermentation Project, Modern Times, Everybody’s Brewing and Full Sail Collaboration and many more.
Ecliptic’s Fourth Orbit Anniversary Party
11 am-11 pm Saturday October 21, Ecliptic Brewing, 825 N. Cook St.; free, all ages
Ecliptic Brewing anniversary party includes special beer releases, food, and free live music. Special beer releases happen throughout the day. Fourth Orbit Imperial Mango IPA will be available for the first time and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Third Orbit Imperial Porter with Cherries will be released. Chef Michael Molitor and Sous chefs Aaron Medina and Christian Gruber will be serving up some tasty amuse-bouches for all attendees in the pub to sample and live entertainment in the brewery starts at 7 pm with Jeremy Wilson, followed by Bitches of the Sun and headliner Redray Frazier.
Also: Free brewery tours at noon and 1 pm with owner/brewmaster John Harris, plus some stellar Fourth Orbit gear. Women’s and men’s custom Fourth Orbit concert-style t-shirts, featuring a full list of the beers brewed during Ecliptic’s fourth year, will be available for purchase.
Killer IPA Fest

Two days of Killer IPAs at Portland’s premier IPA bar includes IPAs from Beachwood Brewing, Structures Brewing, Pizza Port Brewing, El Segundo/Alvarado Street, Highland Park and Faction Brewing. Sunday is Double Trouble with Double IPAs from Claim 52, Great Notion, Block 15, Ruse, Culmination and Barley Brown’s.
Killer Case of the Mondays
4-10 p.m., Monday, Oct. 23, Lombard House, 7337 N Lombard St.;
Publican Brian Koch will open his pub on a Monday to serve some killer beers from Pizza Port Brewing, Little Beast plus football on the big screen — the Eagles vs. Washington Redskins.
Killer Matt Fest/Killer Kribbage

The Brewpublican Ruling Council decrees 2017 to be the year of Matt. Back in 2011 BREWPUBLIC’s Angelo De Ieso decided there were a significant number of brewers named Ben, so Ben Fest was created. Since then, other cohorts of similarly named craft beer personnel have had their own special days: Sean Fest, Mike Fest, Chuck Fest, Chris Fest and Dave Fest among them. This year it’s the Matts’ turn: Look for beers and appearances from brewers named Matt from Alesong, Double Mountain, Hopworks Urban Brewery, Pint’s, Rogue and more!
