Meet the Brewer at Green Dragon with Drinking Horse Brewing
|Join the Green Dragon this Thursday, February 25th as they welcome Drinking Horse Brewing Company and its brewer Tim Schaaf into the Green Dragon to introduce some tasty brews produced in near by Clackamas, OR. Beers are tapped at 5:00pm and then Tim speaks at 6:00pm.
Here are the Drinking Horse beers to be poured on Thursday.
Silk Road Saison
This light bodied and highly carbonated saison is seasoned with peel from Meyer lemons and whole ginger root adding fresh slant on the classic farmhouse ale. Head retention ensures these flavors last until the bottom of the glass. 5% ABV IBU:34
Knight Noir CDA
A West Coast original, the Cascadian Dark Ale is both dark in color and light in body. The robust chocolate and black malts are pronounced and balanced by the abundance of NW hops. Dark as night, bitter enough to satisfy the biggest hop head, and bursting with deep, dank, and fruity hop aromas. 5.5% ABV IBU: 118
Palomino Pilsner
This beer was brewed in the classic Pilsner style, while trying to match the coat and strength of a Polomino Horse hence the slightly darker color and higher ABV than an American macro-brewed lager. True to style it was bittered and flavored with European hops and no rice or maize was used in this brew. 6.5% ABV IBU: 33
Ochococo Chocolate Stout
This dark stout was finished with eight pounds of raw cacao nibs (over 1 pound per barrel) post fermentation for a smooth dessert-like finish that you can drink as a meal. 5.8% ABV IBU: 40

DJ,
Thanks for the plug for the sixth edition of The BDG2M. Glad it helped make your first trip to Munich a productive one. I note your interest in the Green Dragon where you might have met my brother, Rich. He’s one of the guest brewers there at the Dragon and he’s forgotten more about beer than I’ve ever known, although I do OK. All the best.
