Celebrate 28 Years of Firestone Walker Brewing in the New Film – Born To Brew
The modern craft beer industry has seen a lot of changes over the past three decades. One brewery that has experienced its fill of these ups and downs has been Firestone Walker Brewing Co. The brewery recently celebrated its 28th anniversary and the brewery’s two most prominent beerlebrities, David Walker and Matt Brynildson, sat down in the brewery’s barrel room to discuss the brewery’s history and the state of craft beer.
Born To Brew made its debut at its brewery campus in Paso Robles, California last month during its XXVIII Deconstructed Experience for its Brewmaster’s Collective Beer Club members. Now the nearly one hour film is available on Firestone Walker’s YouTube channel and can be viewed below.
David Walker leads off the new film, Born To Brew, with the line, “In the beginning there was bread, and there was beer. Bread kept us healthy, and beer brought us together.” From there, the two cracked open a beer, Walker a classic Double Barrel Ale and Brynildson a Pivo Pils, while discussing the history of the 28 year old brewery.
The intriguing conversation then leads to Brynildson’s brewing history and the funny story about his resume to growing the brewery to become one of the most recognizable craft breweries in the world.
“We just wanted to make some great beer. but we didn’t think we were going to be a part of defining modern American brewing,” stated Walker in the new film Born To Brew.
Cheers to 28 years of brewing to Firestone Walker Brewing Co. in California’s Central Coast!
