It’s hop harvest and Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery is celebrating with the release of four Fresh Hop beers, one of which will make its debut next month! Returning for the 2024 hop harvest is Killer RedKiller Green, and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight. Then arriving in the coming weeks will be the debut of Fresh Velvet, a take on the recent Velvet Wallpaper IPA, a collaboration with Bend’s Van Henion Brewing.

Longstanding two fan favorites, Killer Red and Killer Green are currently on tap in the Double Mountain Taprooms, and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight was kegged yesterday and is on its way to all three Taprooms. Killer Red has been bottled and is available for purchase, while Killer Green and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight will be bottled today and sent off to the Taprooms this upcoming Friday, September 20th! This marks the second year for Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight IPA, a bold collaboration with Solera Brewery that quickly became a popular offering!

Joining the lineup is a brand-new addition, Fresh Velvet, a fresh hop take on Velvet Wallpaper IPA. This draft-only brew is made with Krush™ hops (formerly known as HBC 586), sourced from Perrault Farms. Krush™ hops deliver a vibrant mix of stone fruit, citrus, and berry flavors, perfect for fruity IPAs. Fresh Velvet is currently being brewed, and will hit the taps in early October, offering a taste of something fresh and exciting for hop lovers.

Double Mountain continues its tradition of working with local hop growers, sourcing hops from both Perrault Farms in the Yakima Valley, and Crosby Hops in the Willamette Valley. These farms provide the highest quality hops, harvested at peak freshness. The brewery wastes no time, sending a reefer truck to gather the hops straight from the fields and brew within hours, ensuring the freshest hop flavors shine in every batch.

With harvest season in full swing, there’s no better time to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of fresh hop beers. Double Mountain remains committed to honoring the craft of brewing by embracing local, sustainable farming practices and delivering top-tier quality in every glass. Whether you’re a seasoned hophead or someone looking to explore new flavors, the brewery’s fresh hop offerings promise to take you on a flavorful journey from farm to pint. Make sure to visit soon- these small-batch, limited-time beers won’t last long, and you won’t want to miss out on the freshest brews of the year.
