Melvin Brewing Pays Homage to the Beastie Boys on Pils Boutique
Thirty-five years ago, the Beastie Boys released their sophomore album, Paul’s Boutique, with much fanfare. Now the team at Melvin Brewing has honored this album with its very own tribute beer, Pils Boutique, a brand-new West Coast-style Pilsner.
In brewing Pils Boutique, Melvin Brewing is said to have channeled the Beastie Boys’ spirit of innovation by reimagining the traditional Pilsner. Inspired by the Beastie Boys’ genre-bending spirit, they’ve reimagined the classic style. Expect a clean, crisp base infused with bold new-school hops, creating a pilsner bursting with West Coast character at 5.0% ABV.
Pils Boutique is described by Melvin as offering up juicy grapefruit and sauvignon blanc notes mingle with dank, herbal undertones for a refreshingly drinkable experience that might just become a year-round favorite.
“West Coast Pilsner is an emerging style, and we can’t get enough of it. After testing out different recipes on our pilot system, we combined all the characteristics we liked into Pils Boutique, and we’re stoked to release it throughout our distribution network,” says Travis Cook, marketing director for Melvin. “It’s got the assertive hop aroma and flavor that Melvin fans love, all in the crisp, light body of a Pilsner.
