New Belgium Brewing Releases Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza Variety Pack with Two New Flavors

With all of the attention towards low calorie beers, one beer that pleased our palate last year was Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza, a collaboration from New Belgium Brewing and Mexico’s Cervecería Primus. The beer combined fruit forward flavors in a lighter bodied beer that made for the perfect warm weather beverage.

Originally released in its Watermelon Lime flavor, now the Fort Collins, Colorado based brewer will add two new additional flavors to its lineup with Mango Orange and Berry Guava. The lineup has also gone through a bit of repackaging as now the three flavors will be package in slim 12oz cans that are part of the Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza Variety Pack.

Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza is New Belgium’s answer to the trending hard seltzer market. The addition of two new fruit flavors and the packaging of a mixed variety pack will assist the brewer in keeping its fans seeking a lower ABV and lower calorie beer within its portfolio. Mural is only 4% ABV at 110 calories and 0.1 gram of sugar per 12oz can.

“Every can of Mural is crafted with real fruit juice and no artificial flavors or sweeteners, so from a brewing and sourcing standpoint, Mural is one of our most challenging beers,” said Cody Reif, New Belgium Brewer, in a statement. “Our brewers bend over backwards to carefully source and handle the fruit, in order to bring forth the right flavor, aromas, and colorful pour.”

Mural is brewed in collaboration with Mexico’s premier craft brewery, Cervecería Primus and is truly unlike any other beer. “Our partnership with New Belgium is a great representative of what blending borders can do to brew a new style of beer, unlike our traditional Mexican-style lager,” said Rebeca Dovali Galvan, one of three cousins who own and operate Mexico City-based craft brewery Cervecería Primus. “We are excited to diversify the Mural flavor offerings and bring a taste of Mexico City to the U.S.”
