Silver City Brewery Releases Old Scrooge Christmas Ale
Big, bold beers, perfect for cold, wet Pacific Northwest evenings are hitting store shelves once again. The latest is Old Scrooge Christmas Ale from Silver City Brewery.
Old Scrooge Christmas Ale is the brewery’s most award-winning beer. Through the years it has been awarded 13 medals that includes 6 from the Great American Beer Festival and one award from the World Beer Cup.
This take on an English-Style Barleywine is a malty ale that derives from a long boil time, cool fermentation and extended aging. Silver City uses a malt bill of NW Pale, British Pale, Caramel, and Munich with Columbus and Willamette hops.
The result is a bold, malty beer with notes of apple, cherry and apricot. Old Scrooge Christmas Ale sits at 8.5% ABV and 60 IBUs. A prefect barleywine to drink fresh and to cellar for years to come.
Old Scrooge Christmas Ale is currently available in the Silver City Brewery Taproom and Restaurant in 22oz bottles and draft while supplies last. Look for it in distribution in the coming weeks.
