WeldWerks Brewing to Release Fan Favorite 2025 Coconut Medianoche
Nine years ago in 2016, WeldWerks Brewing Co. debuted what soon became a fan favorite, Coconut Medianoche. This was back in the heyday of craft beer and this one brought long lines for adjunct stout enthusiasts to the brewery that’s based in Greeley, Colorado.
Coconut Medianoche has since gone on to become one of WeldWerks Brewing’s most highly rated beers that frequently tops “best of” lists. Now, WeldWerks is poised to release the largest barrel blend of Coconut Medianoche to date that will be available in limited quantities nationwide within the brewery’s distribution footprint.
But for those in close proximity to Greeley, WeldWerks Brewing will sell advance tickets to purchase the 2025 vintage of Coconut Medianoche. Ticket will go on-sale on Saturday, April 12, at 10:00am via Eventbrite (no access code needed, the ticket purchasing page will be viewable the second the sale begins). Eventbrite bottle pick up begins Friday, April 18 at 11:00am through May 4 at 7:00pm.
“Over 2,000 pounds of toasted and raw coconut were used in the process. After more than a month of moving liquid, blending barrels, and aging on coconut (including eight tank transfers), we are thrilled to finally share one of our favorite Medianoche variants with as many people as possible,” says WeldWerks Head Brewer Skip Schwartz. “Because of the sheer amount of coconut used, it was a tremendous feat to get a behemoth of a beer like this distributed nationally, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result.”
2025 Coconut Medianoche is a blend of Medianoche batches aged for over 28 months in a variety of barrels, including; 11-year Dickel Bourbon barrels, 15-year Sazerac Rye Whiskey barrels, 10-year Blanton’s Bourbon barrels, 10-year Buffalo Trace barrels, nine-year Stagg Jr. Bourbon barrels, seven-year Weller Bourbon barrels, and 15-year Old Fitzgerald Bourbon barrels. After weeks of meticulous blending, this imperial stout was further aged on WeldWerks’ signature mix of toasted coconut flakes and unsweetened raw coconut chips. The result is a beer celebrated for its rich and complex flavor profile, prominently featuring freshly baked coconut macaroons, melted chocolate ganache, and an oaky bourbon warmth.
The 12.6% ABV 2025 Coconut Medianoche will be available in 500mL bottles at WeldWerks, as well as at participating retailers within WeldWerks’ distribution footprint by mid-April. Visit WeldWerks’ Beer Finder for more information.
“A fun pairing that I encourage folks to try is to pair Coconut Medianoche with a coconut-based curry,” says Schwartz. “The curry would be intense enough that it would stand up to the viscosity of the Medianoche, and any spicy curry from the heat from the peppers would mellow out the stout’s sweetness.”
