MICROHOPIC 3 @ Migration Brewing

Microhopic 3 at Migration Brewing

Brewpublic‘s past two MICROHOPIC events were a lot of fun (click here for a recap of the last one, and here for pics from the inaugural event), so we’ve decided to continue on with them. MICROHOPIC is a series showcasing new and interesting breweries and beer styles from around Oregon. In our third installment of MICROHOPIC, our friends at Migration Brewing Company will host and participate in this unique tasting experience. In addition to Migration’s fine house brews, we will also be showcasing newer releases from Amnesia Brewing, Beetje Brewery, Breakside Brewery, and Burnside Brewing. These five Portland craft microbreweries encapsulate the spirit of innovation in brewing amongst Portland’s many distinct artisans. Plus, they are a younger, fresher face to the community that we are eager for you to experience first hand, therefor, brewers and brewery representatives will be on hand to discuss their work with folks. Here’s the details of the event :

When: April 23, 2011  6PM-midnight
Where : Migration Brewing 2828 NE Glisan Street, Portland, Oregon (click here for map)
Why : Because we are crazy about craft beer.

The Beers:

Amnesia Dry-Hopped Red Handed Ale

This dry-hopped rendition of Amnesia’s beautifully colored red ale brings for exquisite citrus and piny notes that support an underpinning of bready and chewy malt character with a touch of roast.

Beetje Touch of Esen

From one of Portland’s smallest breweries (Beetje literally means “Little One”), comes this new one-off ale. An amber ale dry hopped with Amarillo. This the second experiment with the yeast that, reportedly, originates from De Dolle Brouwerij. 4.8% ABV, 47 IBU.

Breakside Rye Kölsch

From one of Portland’s newest and most innovative breweries comes the one of a kind brew. This light rye ale meant to usher in more daylight and warmer spring days. Utilizing two different kinds of rye malt that constitute 20% of the total grain bill, and hopped exclusively with Hallertau hops, this brew will also be pumped through a randall filled with fresh cucumbers and juniper berries. This flavor amalgamation is designed to create a character reminiscent of a Tom Collins. Visit Breakside’s brewpub each Wednesday at 3PM for new unique releases. 5.2% 25 IBU.

Burnside Stock Ale

Burnside Stock Ale displays soft malt flavor with a delicate hop flavor and aroma. This is the perfect balance between both, creating a perfectly harmonious ale with a striking deep copper color. Made in the E.S.B. tradition. Burnside Stock Ale, as all Burnside Beers is unfiltered. This requires an increased time commitment, but pays dividends in the depth, character, and flavor profile of our offerings. 5.8% ABV,  51 IBU

Migration PDX

PDX which is a light Kölsch-style beer displaying notes of lemon zest from the distinctive Sorachi Ace hops used, weighing in at 27 IBU’s and 4.3% ABV, Brewer Michael Branes used a the delightful 2565 German Kölsch yeast.

No tokens or advance tickets necessary, just come by the pub and order at the bar…
