Laurelwood Brewing Co. Set to Open Fifth Location
|Portland’s beloved Laurelwood Brewing Co. has set their sights on opening a fifth location in the Portland area. According to PDX Eater and an application report from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, the company founded by Mike DeKalb in 2001, “has applied for a license to open a 105-seat spot at the busy Milwaukie/SE Bybee intersection, just around from corner from Lompoc Brewing’s Oaks Bottom Public House.” The physical address of the new grounds is 6716 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, OR
Laurelwood’s main production brewery is located at 5115 NE Sandy Boulevard in Portland. The company also has two locations within the PDX International Airport and a pub in DeKalb’s hometown of Battleground, WA. In 2010, the company closed their main brewpub and pizzeria on NE 42nd at Sandy, where Columbia River Brewing Co. currently resides, and in 2011, Laurelwood closed a pub on NW Kearney St. at 23rd Ave (now NW Public House). Laurelwood Brewing Co. has been making award winning beer under some well-respected brewmasters that include Christian Ettinger (Hopworks Urban Brewery), Chad Kennedy (Worthy Brewing), and are now under the direction of brewmaster Vasilios Gletsos.
