Le Pélican d’Or Release

The Pelican has created a brand new experimental Belgian beer, Le Pélican d’Or, which is a Belgian-style golden strong ale.  This brew features a floral, fruity and hoppy aroma, bright gold color and a clean, dry finish.  Brewed especially for the Oregon Brewers Guild’s “Cheers to Belgian Beers” event, Le Pélican d’Or uses malted rye to emphasize the balanced spicy character inherent in the “Farmhouse” yeast.  Generously dry- hopped with Mt. Rainier, Santiam and Tettnang whole flower hops, the fresh floral nose marries with the yeast-driven fruity/spicy aromas.  A lean-bodied, toasty malt character supports copious amounts of hop flavor.  Le Pélican d’Or finishes with a clean, snappy balance of malt flavor, hop bitterness, and slightly tart, spicy yeast character.
